Many Are Cold, but Few Are Frozen

Unworthy of San Francisco

In 1992 I visited the Bay Area before leaving for Russia. At the time, I thought it was the most beautiful place I had ever been. Clean, fresh, and vibrant. A healthy balance between city life and the outdoors. And such fabulous weather. I've already mentioned the food.

I have the same view now. I wonder why I haven't made any effort to move here. Instead, I've spent the last 18 years in difficult places, mostly in the former Soviet Union. I would love to live in the Bay Area, but somehow, I don't think I'm worthy.

At least not right now.
