Today was a perfect day, in terms of weather. It was warm, it was sunny, and the girls were in bloom. Normally on a day like this I'd sit outside at the Grand Khan Irish Pub and enjoy a few beers with friends. But instead, I had to attend a video conference. Even though it was a Friday night.
I was connected to people in Washington, Hong Kong, Beijing and Jakarta. That may sound exciting, but my organism is not designed for video conferences. I may have looked professional on screen with my striped shirt and silk tie, but inside, I was suffering. It was almost as bad as being in church.
I spent two hours watching the bright, Mongolian sky sink into darkness, with the full knowledge that I might have been at the pub.
I guess that will have to wait until Saturday.
