I thought winter was really over. WRONG. On Saturday morning everything was covered in snow again. It's jarring to see snow when everything is blooming.
To make things worse, on May 15 the central heat is turned off regardless of the outside temperature. Hot water and heat is produced in coal-fired factories and piped throughout the city. Often, the hideous, insulated pipes, wrapped up like mummies, run above ground, rising up to make way over roads.
But by noon the snow had melted away, and today I was playing soccer with the kids in a t-shirt.
