On my way to work this morning, it seemed colder than usual. My thighs began to sting from the cold during the short walk from the bus stop to my office, and I could feel my toes going numb even though I'm wearing my warmest boots.
I was right. It's -40°, and tonight it will fall to -42°.
I remember my science teacher in high school telling us that at -40°, Fahrenheit and Celsius are the same. I never thought I'd experience it in person. Hopefully this will be a once-in-a-lifetime event.
